How to Make Chennai Chicken 65
Ingredients
- 500 g chicken cubes
- 1 tsp crushed garlic
- 1 tsp Grated ginger
- 5 to 6 green chillies
- 10 Curry leaves
- 1 cup oil
- 1 tbsp Chopped Coriander
- For the marinade:
- 2 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder
- 1 tsp crushed garlic
- 1 tsp Grated ginger
- ½ tsp black pepper ground
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
- salt
- For The Sauce:
- 1 cup of yoghurt
- 1 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder
- ½ tsp coriander powder
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- ½ tsp red food colour optional
- salt
- For the Batter
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp rice flour
- 2 tbsp cornflour
- 1 tbsp water
Instructions
- Mix all the marinade ingredients in a bowl.
- Add the chicken to the marinade and combine thoroughly till all the pieces are coated well. Set aside to marinate for an hour.
- Put the sauce ingredients in a separate bowl and keep it aside.
- In a bowl, beat the egg and add the cornflour and rice flour with little water. Make a smooth paste and add the chicken pieces.
- Heat a wok with a cup of oil and deep fry the chicken pieces on medium flame.
- Set the pieces aside on a kitchen towel to absorb extra oil.
- Add 2 tbsp of oil to a pan and sauté the garlic and ginger. Add green chillies, curry leaves, and fried chicken pieces.
- Add the yoghurt and cook till it is absorbed.
- Garnish with chopped coriander. Serve hot, and enjoy!
