Easy to Make Mutton Paya Recipe To Soothe Your Soul
Ingredients
- 6 lamb trotters
- 2 green cardamom
- 3 onion finely chopped
- ½ tbsp Ginger Paste
- 1 Tomato finely chopped
- ½ tsp Garam masala powder
- 1½ tbsp roasted chana dal
- water as required
- ½ tbsp turmeric
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 2 sliced & slit green chilli
- ½ tbsp Garlic paste
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 bunch ground coriander leaves
- 1½ tbsp grated coconut
- salt
Instructions
- Take a pan. On medium-high flame, dry roast the chana dal. Take a blender. Add grated coconut and chana dal and blend it into a paste.
- Take a pressure cooker and add 5 cups of water to it. Wash the trotters with running water. Then add them to the pressure cooker. Then add turmeric powder, cardamom, black peppercorns and salt. Allow the trotters to pressure cook for 10 minutes.
- Take a frying pan and heat some oil in it. Add the chopped onion and green chillies to it. Saute them until the onions turn translucent. Then add ginger and garlic paste. Cook the paste until it loses the raw aroma. Then add the tomatoes and red chilli powder. Saute the ingredients. Add the chana dal and coconut paste to this mix. Cook the base until the oil starts separating.
- Open the pressure cooker and add the soup base. Close the lid and let it pressure cook for 10 more minutes. Open the lid, add garam masala and let the soup boil for a few more minutes. You can adjust the consistency of the soup by adding a bit of more water if required. Remove from the flame and let it rest. Serve hot with Naan or steamed rice.
