Red Mullet Curry Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion
- 2 green chillies
- 2 chopped and minced garlic cloves
- 1 small piece of ginger minced
- 2 tbsp heavy cream
- 1 tsp curry powder
- ½ tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 4 green cardamom pods
- 4 cloves
Instructions
- Marinate the fish pieces generously with salt and chilli powder.
- Heat oil in a pan and then shallow fry the red mullet fish pieces for a few minutes until half cooked. Keep the fish aside to rest.
- Add spices and sauté them for a few seconds.
- Add chopped onions and green chillies, and fry until the onions are translucent.
- Add chopped tomato pieces and a little water. Again stir well for a few minutes on a low flame. Let this simmer until the tomatoes are soft and the raw smell of the spices dissipates.
- Finally, it is time to add the nagarai fish pieces and cook for 5 minutes.
- Once cooked, serve hot with rice.
