Recipe Notes:
For the perfect authentic taste, use coconut oil instead of other cooking oils. Cleaning mussels may seem like a daunting task, but it’s easy. Simply pull out the beard and give the mussel shells a nice scrub. When choosing mussels, make sure that the shells are closed and do not have any cracks. If you find cracks or opened shells, discard them. When cooking the mussels, add turmeric as it enhances the flavour. Once the mussels are cooked, make sure to discard any unopened mussels. Try to use fresh coconut slices as it gives a crunchy texture to the dish. Remember not to overcook the mussels once they are added to the sauteed ingredients.
