  1. Place a deep-bottomed saucepan over medium heat and add oil to it. Stir in the chopped onions and cook them until they turn golden brown. Remove the cooked onions in a blender. Now, add some more oil to the pan and add curry leaves, coriander powder and black peppercorns to it. Stir them until the curry leaves start to leave its moisture. Remove the cooked curry leaves in the same blender and add water to it. Blend all the ingredients until they form a thick paste.
  2. Place the same pan on medium heat and add a little oil to it. Now, add sliced onions to the oil and let it cook thoroughly. Add minced ginger, garlic, pepper, turmeric and salt to the pan. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes. Add the tomato paste, mutton meat pieces and water to the pan. Stir everything well and turn the flame to medium-low. Place a lid over the pan and let the mutton pepper curry simmer for 30-40 minutes.
  3. Once the mutton pieces become tender, garnish the curry with coriander leaves. Serve it hot with roti, naan or steamed rice.
